Good Leaders Are Targeted To The Future

The prevailing characteristic of big leaders is that most of the time they are thinking about the future. We are worried about where they are going instead of where they were. They cultivate a positive attitude and think about tomorrow’s possibilities instead of concentrating on past issues. Only about 10 percent of people have this forward-looking quality. This small percentage includes all different kinds of movers, shakers, businessmen, company owners, top salespeople, designers, performers, and producers.

You have to practice “idealization” in every area of your life, to think like a leader. To make the most of the use of idealization, you can begin by imagining that you have absolutely no limits to what you can be, do or have. Imagine having all of the time and money you need for a moment. You’ve got all the information and the skills, talent, experience, contacts, and friends. You are a “no-limit” person who is capable of doing anything you really put your mind to. If you were the best professional business person you could possibly be, what specific characteristics of expertise, abilities, and leadership would you have built to a high standard?

You can then apply this process to your family, your economy, and your physical health as you continue the practice of idealization. If, in any way, your family life was great, what kind of lifestyle would you live? And if your financial situation were perfect, how much money would you have at the bank, and how much would you receive every month and every year from your investments? And if your physical health and fitness rates were perfect, how far would you be from today? Once you start developing leadership qualities, you start engaging in what’s called “long-term thinking.”

Great Leaders Must Maintain A Positive Attitude

Top individuals possess a positive attitude and are long-term thinkers. Regular thinkers just think of the moment and instant gratification. Yet major leaders are talking about where they want to be in five and ten years, and what they need to do every hour of each day to make their ideal future a reality. Great leaders inspire us because they are inspired by themselves, their mates, clients, colleagues, and even their kids. They’re excited about the possibility of making their own exciting future.

They get up every morning and see every effort they make as part of a great plan with their lives to accomplish something wonderful and push forward with a positive attitude. When they write a new novel, they realize that each page they’re writing is a step closer to their target. They even focus on the good that will come out of it when progress comes slowly, rather than dwelling on the sense of foreverness.

Officials are positive. In everything that happens, positive or negative, they see possibilities and potentialities. They in every situation and in every person are searching for the positive. We are looking for the valuable lessons of every question or setback. I never suffer “failures,” but write them down as “experiences of learning.” Most of all, great leaders in every area of their lives have a sense of meaning and purpose. They have specific goals and plans written which they work on every day. Leaders are clear where they’re headed, and what they’re going to have to do to get there. Their behavior is purposive and goal-driven. As a result, they achieve five to ten times as much as the average person who works with little concern for the future from day today.

The Best Leaders Take Responsibility For Themselves

One of the most important qualities of leadership is that of recognizing personal responsibility. Leaders never grumble, they never demonstrate. They are making progress, instead of making excuses. They say to themselves when they have a failure or difficulty: “I am responsible! I am accountable! I am liable!” Great leaders see themselves as victors in circumstances rather than as victims.

When something goes wrong we do not accuse or blame anyone. We focus instead on the answer, on what to do.
Leaders are intensely focused on practice. We are in constant motion. They’re trying something, and then something else, and then again. They’re never giving in.

Leaders, at last, have dignity. We always tell the truth. They deal with themselves in truth and we live with others in reality. It’s a massive responsibility to accept leadership. It is both terrifying and uplifting. When you decide to become a leader in your life, you throw off the shackles of fear and dependence that hold back most people and adopt a positive attitude towards life. You devise your own future with your own hands. You are putting yourself on the road to becoming all that you can become.

Your voice is your most important tool when you speak. This affects the strength of your speech and can make or break the quality of your speech. Luckily, you can learn to use your voice, just like playing a musical instrument, to increase your power and persuasiveness in any conversation or speech you give.

Use Voice Drills

The voice of humans is like a muscle. Exercise and use will make them stronger. Some weak-voiced people have become strong, confident speakers by building up their voices with exercise over time.

Here is one example. Memorize a piece of poetry and periodically read it while driving or walking around. Imagine making a dramatic presentation on a stage, in front of a large crowd of people. Place in words emotion and power and accent and power. Go along slowly. Change the emphasis in the line of poetry on every word, thus changing the meaning of the line.

Speak Slow and Softly

As you talk more gradually, there is more strength and authority in your voice. There’s an opportunity for your listeners to learn and comment on what you say. All-powerful people speak slowly, make clear pronouncements, and express themselves with confidence. Talking loud, positive, is strong and moveable.

Your pitch rises when you talk too fast, often to something squeaky and kind of childish. This reduces the impact of your words and your influence on the audience as listeners are downgrading the importance or meaning of what you say.

Record your voice and listen to it

Record yourself reading poetry or parts of plays as you grow the capacity to speak forcefully. Replay these videos time and time again, finding ways to improve the speech, presentation, and pacing.

Record your phone Conversations

You will improve your vocal competence level by capturing and listening to your side of the conversations afterward. Every time you record your voice and play it back, you’ll hear different ways that you can improve your delivery and articulation next time.

Emphasis on Pauses

A speech’s suspense and strength are found in the silences you build when you pass from one stage to another. There are four types of pauses that you can use to add more strength to your presentations. They are, “The Sense Pause”, “The Dramatic Pause”, “The Emphatic Pause”, and “The Sentence-Completion Pause”.

Eat and Drink Proper

Energy is necessary for proper transmission of speech and voice. Eat lightly before having a short conversation. This means that when you start speaking, you are bright and alert and that your brain is working at its best.

It is essential to eat well before having a long talk. A solid, high protein breakfast or lunch will give you four to five hours of energy to burn. Protein is food for the brain and you need it to think effectively and speak. Your voice stays strong, and your mind stays clear.

Just drink room temperature water before and during your speech, to ensure the best possible sound. Cold water can make your vocal cords chill and reduce the amount of warmth in your voice. It can be difficult to speak clearly when you have a sore throat and to project that voice. If this happens, drink lots of honey and lemon juice on hot water. On several times, the miraculous combination has rescued me.

You will drastically improve your speaking voice by following these 6 steps. You will feel empowered by the feeling of trust and preparation that will follow the practice of these skills. It’s a perfect way to overcome any stage fright you’d be struggling with in front of big crowds.

“What is the value of setting goals?” Or ‘is there really a need to set goals? I personally believe that setting goals are of paramount importance when trying to achieve success. Here are six reasons why it is important to set objectives.

1. Goals Focus On You

Your efforts can become disjointed and often confusing without a target. For instance, a goal takes a hummingbird’s flight which is chaotic and erratic and focuses it much like a hawk swooping down for its prey. Using laser precision, it helps you to zero in on the activities of each day, weeding out wasted effort and idle activity.

2. Objectives Allow You To Measure Progress

It is only possible to be able to keep track of your progress towards achieving a goal if you set one first. It’s extremely rewarding to be able to measure progress and help you stay focused, keep your head held high and your energy up. Also, it will keep you from coming down. Sometimes it’s easy to get discouraged when working towards success because you don’t feel you’ve “arrived” yet.

However, if you measure progress while working towards a specific goal, you will be able to see that although you may not be where you want to go, you have moved in the right direction and are much better off than you started.

3. Goals Help You To Remain Motivated

Putting off work is easy until tomorrow when there is no goal on the horizon.

Let’s look, for example, at an athlete’s life. If they have to get in shape to attend an NFL draft, it’s better to believe that they’re going to work out every day, whether they’re feeling good or not, whether they’re sore or not, whether they’re exhausted or not, whether they’re eager or not, because they’re striving. They have a goal. They’re kept in the gym by their desire to achieve their goal when they’d rather skip. Having a goal will keep you motivated in much the same way!

4. Help You To Fight Procrastination

Procrastination is something that we all struggle with from time to time, including me. But when you set clear goals in life for what you want to do, it helps you understand that procrastination is risky. Time is wasted. You are not getting closer to that goal yet another day. Remember this quotation from Pablo Picasso every time you’re considering postponing that next move toward your target and rethinking your stance: “Just postpone until tomorrow what you’re willing to die after you’ve left undone.”

5. You’re Getting Even More

This gives you the taste of victory when you set a goal and hit this. You are going to want to taste this again. What does this signify? You are moving towards the next ladder rung, force yourself to move past another level, you are doing even more. Learning to fulfill and unexpected targets will help you achieve far more than you ever thought possible.

6. Goals Help You Determine

The aim setting act allows you to consider what you really want out of life. Which success standard do you want to attain? What is the level of income you want? What is your ease of life like? Your dream home, what? What do you need to fulfill your goals from an income-wise perspective? Once you set this end goal, then you break down your desires into achievable, measurable goals.

Those targets keep you inspired, helping you stop procrastination and keeping your aspirations laser-focused. Therefore, it is the act of setting, achieving, and surpassing goals that make it possible to live your best life.
